Hamsafar terms of service
Last updated: 30 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Hamsafar (the app, the website, and the WhatsApp assistant) in Pakistan. By signing up you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Hamsafar.
What Hamsafar is
- Hamsafar is a technology platform that connects riders and senders with independent drivers of bikes, rickshaws and cars. Drivers are not Hamsafar employees; they choose when to go online and which requests to accept.
- The trip or delivery is an agreement between you and the driver. Hamsafar provides the matching, fares, tracking, safety tools and support.
Fares and payment
- You see the fare before you book. It depends on distance and time. When many people are waiting and few drivers are free, fares can rise to at most 1.5 times, and the app says so before you book.
- You pay the driver directly, in cash or to the driver's own JazzCash or Easypaisa number. Hamsafar takes no commission on ride fares: the driver keeps all of it.
- Hamsafar charges a small handling fee on parcel and food deliveries (per drop-off) and a booking fee on intercity trips. These are shown before you book and are collected by the driver for Hamsafar.
- Shared seats: you pay the seat price if another rider going your way joins, or the normal fare if nobody does. Both are shown before you book.
- Promo and invite discounts are paid by Hamsafar, need a completed trip, and are one per person. Fake accounts, self referrals or other abuse cancel the reward and may close the account.
Cancellations
- You can cancel before the trip starts. Please cancel quickly if your plans change, so the driver can take other work.
- Repeated late cancellations or no-shows, by riders or drivers, may lead to a warning or a blocked account.
Parcels and food
- Senders are responsible for what they send and must describe it honestly. Do not send: weapons, drugs or other illegal items, alcohol, hazardous or flammable goods, live animals, large amounts of cash or jewellery, or anything the law does not allow.
- The receiver gives the driver a 4 digit PIN to prove delivery. Share the PIN only with the receiver.
- Cash to collect on delivery is limited to Rs 50,000 per order. The driver hands it over to the sender as agreed between them.
- Drivers may refuse an item that looks unsafe or illegal.
Drivers
- Drivers must hold a valid driving licence, use a roadworthy vehicle registered in Pakistan, follow traffic law, and keep any insurance and permits the law requires. They are responsible for their own taxes.
- Drivers take a live verification selfie. Using someone else's account or photo closes the account.
- Respectful behaviour is required. Harassment of any kind, especially of women riders, leads to removal.
Safety
- Use the SOS button and the live trip link to keep family informed. SOS is not a replacement for emergency services: in danger call 15 (police) or 1122 (rescue).
- Check the driver's name, photo and number plate before you get in. Do not get into a vehicle that does not match.
Your account
- Give your real name and your own phone number, keep your password private, and tell us if someone else used your account. You must be 18 or older to drive, and 16 or older to ride on your own.
- We may block accounts that break these terms, put others at risk, or misuse the service. You can delete your account at any time from Settings.
Limits of responsibility
Hamsafar works to keep the service available and safe, but cannot promise it will always be available, error free, or that a driver will be found. To the extent the law allows, Hamsafar is not responsible for loss or damage caused by drivers, riders, senders or receivers, or for delays, beyond the fees Hamsafar itself charged for that trip. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Pakistani law.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and important changes are shown in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and disputes go to the courts of Lahore.
